How to Enter Digital Images for Competition & FotoPhun

Digital images should be in .jpg format at a maximum size of 1024x768 pixels.

The amount of .jpg compression is the photographer's choice, but a .jpg at 100% is about 4 times the file size of the same .jpg at 60%, so keep this in mind as your images may be e-mailed. You might want to make a couple of different versions to compare quality at different compressions.

If your images are not exactly 1024x768, that's fine, but don't exceed those dimentions. Always consider how your image looks best and has the most impact. It will be projected on screen so it will always look bigger and (hopefully) more impressive than what you see on your monitor.

Give your image a descriptive filename, which should probably be the same as the title to help keep things straight. A suggested format for Competition is title, name and level - re: DeadTree-JohnSmith-N.jpg (the N stands for Novice.) For FotoPhun a title and your name is adequate.

Digital images images should be submitted by e-mail no later than two days in advance of the meeting -- this would be a Tuesday evening submission for a Thursday evening meeting. Sooner is better.

When sending images via e-mail please put "WCC Competition Submission" or "FotoPhun Submission" in the subject line of your e-mail and note the titles of the images, your name and your level (for Competition but not FotoPhun) in the body of the e-mail. (If you don't know how to do e-mail attachments, send an e-mail with the name of your e-mail software to your friendly neighborhood WebWench, and she should be able to send you instructions.)

E-mail images to Ryan Harper at ryan@harpersolutions.com at least two days before the meeting.
